*1 I settled on that decision as I felt it would be the best way to present the idea of hope. For the last two months I have been in the UK living at home in lockdown with my little brother and sister. We often read bedtime stories and I find that they are a brilliant way to learn of bravery, good overcoming evil and hope. I thought this would be the perfect way then, to present this hopeful message to people.
 
*2 My favourite line in the poem is this:
“And when they found the cure and were allowed to go outside, they all preferred the world they found to the one they’d left behind”
 
The reason it is my favourite line is because it is the essence of the idea. If we collectively made the decision to use this moment to reevaluate the imbalances in our lives and worked towards setting them straight, then we might indeed prefer the new world we build to returning back to ‘normal’ as you sometimes hear people expressing. I think that would be infinitely better than returning to normal as the world was good in so many ways, but without question could and should be infinitely better. I want to live in that world.
 
*3 Community. We are forced to return to the most basic of tasks and interactions. Coronavirus has restricted us to our homes, but in doing that we have the opportunity to reconnect with our families and be useful in our communities. This proves that even in the darkest of times, positive outcomes can be found. Stay hopeful. In the bad, try and find the good.
